What this site does

London Scrap Metal Prices publishes scrap metal prices — each dated, so you know exactly when it was checked — along with guides to grades, a scrap value calculator and plain answers to common questions. We are a price guide, not a scrap yard.

Where the prices come from

The figures are supplied by Simvic, a working scrap metal yard at Unit 4, Ford Road, Chertsey, KT16 8HG, and are checked and entered by hand. They are one yard's prices, not a UK average, and this site is run independently of the yard.

Clear, dated prices

Prices change with metal markets, so every figure shows the date it was last verified. Older figures are marked out of date. What you are actually paid depends on the grade, condition and weight confirmed at the yard.

The rules when you sell

Every licensed scrap metal dealer must follow the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013: expect an ID check and payment by bank transfer, not cash. These rules apply to any dealer, not just the yard whose prices we publish.
